im new to edible cannabis(actually cannabis altogether) and i was hoping to get some help on these forums

i was starting with making cannabutter….and i cooked with 8 g(i think) of bud into abt 75g butter…i left it for 4 hours and now that its over and cooled….it looks like coal, small, black really hard and coallike. is this normal? should i take it?? if so in wat way?
